বিশেষ প্রতিনিধি | ঢাকা, ১৮ অক্টোবর ২০২৪ : বাংলাদেশের সমাজতান্ত্রিক দল-বাসদ কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির সাধারণ সম্পাদক কমরেড বজলুর রশীদ ফিরোজ আজ শুক্রবার (১৮ অক্টোবর ২০২৪) সংবাদ পত্রে দেওয়া এক বিবৃতিতে অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের দেয়া কতিপয় সিদ্ধান্তে তীব্র ক্ষোভ ও উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করে বলেছেন, মিমাংসিত বিষয়ে অহেতুক বিতর্ক সৃষ্টি করে জাতিকে বিভক্ত করা জুলাই অভ্যুত্থানের বৈষম্য বিরোধী চেতনাকে খর্ব করতে পারে, জনগণের ঐক্যের শক্তিকে বিভক্ত করতে পারে।

বিবৃতিতে তিনি বলেন, অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের কাজ রাষ্ট্রের সংস্কার কাজে মনযোগ দেওয়া, দ্রুত জুলাই হত্যাকান্ডের বিচার নিশ্চিত করা, দ্রব্যমূল্য ও আইন শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনা। এটা না করে ‘রিসেট বাটন পুশ’ মুক্তিযুদ্ধের প্রেরণাদায়ী ৭ মার্চ, ৪ নভেম্বর ইত্যাদি বিতর্ক সৃষ্টি মোটেও কাম্য নয়।

বিবৃতিতে কমরেড ফিরোজ বলেন, ’৫২-র ভাষা আন্দোলন, ’৬২-র শিক্ষা আন্দোলন, ’৬৬-র ছয় দফা আন্দোলন, ’৬৯ এর গণঅভ্যুত্থান, ’৭০-এর নির্বাচন এর ধারাবাহিকতায় ৭ মার্চ এর ভাষণ, ’৭১-এর মুক্তিযুদ্ধ, স্বাধীনতাত্তোর ’৯০ এর গণঅভ্যুত্থান ও জুলাই ’২৪ গণঅভ্যুত্থান সবকিছুই বাঙালি জাতির গর্বের বিষয়, ইতিহাস ও ঐতিহ্যের অংশ। একে অস্বীকার করে দেশ-জাতির মঙ্গল আসবে না।

একথা ঠিক মুক্তিযুদ্ধ ছিল জনযুদ্ধ, কিন্তু মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনাকে আওয়ামী লীগ দলীয়করণ করে চেতনার ব্যবসায় পরিণত করেছিল। একদল মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনার ব্যবসা, আরেকদল ধর্মের ব্যবসা করে চলেছে। স্বাধীনতাত্তোর ৫২ বছরে সব সরকারই মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনার বিপরীতে দেশ পরিচালনা করে এ হাল দাঁড় করিয়েছে। কিন্তু আওয়ামী লীগের তথা শেখ হাসিনার সরকারের অপকর্মের দায়ে মুক্তিযুদ্ধ, ৭ মার্চসহ ইতিহাস ঐতিহ্যকে ধ্বংস করা কোন ক্রমেই কাম্য নয়।

বিবৃতিতে তিনি বলেন, অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের এমন কোন কাজ বা উপদেষ্টামন্ডলীর এমন কোন কথা বার্তা বলা ঠিক হবে না যাতে অভ্যুত্থানকারী শক্তির মধ্যে বিভক্তি তৈরি হয়। কারণ এই সরকার ব্যর্থ হলে দেশ ও জনগণ মারাত্মক হুমকীতে পড়বে যা কারোই কাম্য হতে পারে না।

বিবৃতিতে তিনি গণঅভ্যুত্থান ’২৪ এর চেতনায় বৈষম্যহীন বাংলাদেশ প্রতিষ্ঠার লক্ষ্যে অবিলম্বে সুষ্ঠু অংশগ্রহণমূলক নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠানের জন্য যতটুকু সংস্কার প্রয়োজন তা করে দ্রুত নির্বাচনের রোডম্যাপ ঘোষণা ও নির্বাচিত জনপ্রতিনিধিদের কাছে ক্ষমতা হস্তান্তরের দাবি জানিয়েছেন।

Denying the History and Heritage of the Liberation War Will Not Benefit the Country or the Nation – Socialist Party of Bangladesh (BASAD)

In a statement given to the press today, 18 October 2024, Comrade Bazlur Rashid Firoz, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Socialist Party (BASAD), expressed strong anger and concern over several decisions made by the interim government. He stated that creating unnecessary debate on settled matters can divide the nation and weaken the anti-discriminatory spirit of the July uprising, as well as fragment the strength of the people’s unity.

In the statement, he mentioned that the interim government’s focus should be on state reform, ensuring swift justice for the July killings, and bringing inflation and law and order under control. Instead, it is unacceptable to create controversies about inspiring events of the Liberation War like the 7th of March and the 4th of November by talking about pressing the ‘reset button.’

Comrade Firoz further said that the Language Movement of ’52, the Education Movement of ’62, the Six-Point Movement of ’66, the Mass Uprising of ’69, the 1970 elections, the 7th March speech, the 1971 Liberation War, the post-independence Mass Uprising of ’90, and the July 2024 Uprising are all sources of pride for the Bengali nation, and part of its history and heritage. Denying these will not bring any good to the country or the nation.

He acknowledged that the Liberation War was a people’s war, but criticized the Awami League for commercializing the spirit of the war, turning it into a business. One group profits from the Liberation War’s spirit, while another profits from religion. Over the 52 years since independence, all governments have ruled against the spirit of the Liberation War, leading to the current state of affairs. However, the misdeeds of the Awami League or Sheikh Hasina’s government should not justify the destruction of history and heritage, including the Liberation War and the 7th of March.

He emphasized that the interim government should avoid any action or statement from the advisory council that could create divisions among the forces behind the uprising. If this government fails, the country and its people will face serious threats, which no one wants.

In the statement, he urged the immediate announcement of a roadmap for an election and the necessary reforms for a fair and participatory election, as well as the transfer of power to elected representatives, all in line with the spirit of the 2024 Uprising, aiming to establish a discrimination-free Bangladesh.
